The Model 500 DIRECT DRIVE TOP DRIVE SYSTEM uses a drive system which connects the OEM AC drilling motor directly to the drill string, eliminating the gearbox and lubrication system and allowing the DIRECT DRIVE TOP DRIVE to provide greater performance, less maintenance and unbeatable reliability.
The Model 500 DIRECT DRIVE TOP DRIVE SYSTEM comes complete with integrated AC drilling motor, bail, counterbalance system, rotating pipe-handler, local cooling system, drill motor brake, gooseneck and wash pipe assembly (3" ID), and S-Pipe, if applicable. The DIRECT DRIVE TOP DRIVE SYSTEM is fitted with marine industrial-grade junction boxes, control cable connectors, solenoid valves, pressure switches, cable glands and space heaters rated appropriately for the area classification and environment, normally Zone 1.
The Model 500 DIRECT DRIVE TOP DRIVE SYSTEM utilizes (IEC / CENELEC) Exe electrical components and is constructed according to IEC standards for marine applications. All hazardous area equipment is certified for Zone
1; all exterior mounted safe area equipment is designed for a marine application. All hardware is rated for IP 56 min and -20 °C to +55 °C.

VI. 480V MOTOR CONTROL CENTER
POWER SYSTEMS will provide one (1) section of Motor Control Center. The MCC will be 480V,
3 Phase, 60 Hz, with NEMA rated starters and breakers. The main bus bar will be tin plated copper. Each starter will include a 480:120 control power transformer.
VII. TRANSFORMERS
POWER SYSTEMS will provide the following transformers:

VIII. POWER CONTROL HOUSE
POWER SYSTEMS will provide one (1) Power Control House with approximate dimensions of
11’ H x 8’ D x 13’ L. Material shall be carbon steel. Base of the house shall be constructed of channel
perimeter with horizontal stringers to support a four point top lift. The power control house shall have one
(1) entry/exit door for personnel and equipment access. Door construction shall be with gaskets and self
closing. The door shall be of locking type with panic hardware and door closers. The door components shall be of heavy-duty construction. Vertical supports shall be of standard tubular steel and shall meet all load requirements. Exterior walls, roof and flooring shall be made of .” plate. Welds shall be of full penetration on exterior steel exposed to the elements. Interior welds shall be staggered.
The interior walls and ceiling are made of 16-gauge galvanneal metal, primed and painted white. The
flooring shall be .” steel plate painted ANSI 61 Gray. The flooring shall be covered with insulated matting.
Plug panel will be located in recessed compartment located on one side of the house. The receptacles for the outgoing AC power are to be installed above the Dynamic Braking cubicle.
One (1) 12 circuit, 208Y/120Volt lighting panel will be mounted on an interior wall to provide power for lighting and other devices. An interior fluorescent, rapid-start ballast lighting fixture will be provided for aisle lighting. An emergency light with battery back-up will also be included in the interior of the house.
The two (2) air conditioning units will be wall-mounted type, rated at 2 tons. The air conditioner will be controlled by a thermostat located inside the house. The supply for the air conditioner will be a 3-phase, 208V.
The power control house will be sandblasted prior to painting. The exterior of the building will be painted with a three-coat paint system: sub-coat zinc primer, surface tolerant epoxy, and a topcoat of polyurethane
paint.
Rig Survey
A thorough rig survey may have to be conducted by Service Technicians to verify top drive fit and
modifications (if necessary) to mast. Mast modifications are not included. Guide tracks or torque tubes are supplied with mast. Dollies are supplied by mast manufacturer.
