| | Description: | Model L-DDTD-500, 500 ton DIRECT DRIVE TOP DRIVE The Model 500 DIRECT DRIVE TOP DRIVE SYSTEM uses a drive system which connects the OEM AC drilling motor directly to the drill string, eliminating the gearbox and lubrication system and allowing the DIRECT DRIVE TOP DRIVE to provide greater performance, less maintenance and unbeatable reliability. The Model 500 DIRECT DRIVE TOP DRIVE SYSTEM comes complete with integrated AC drilling motor, bail, counterbalance system, rotating pipe-handler, local cooling system, drill motor brake, gooseneck and wash pipe assembly (3" ID), and S-Pipe, if applicable. The DIRECT DRIVE TOP DRIVE SYSTEM is fitted with marine industrial-grade junction boxes, control cable connectors, solenoid valves, pressure switches, cable glands and space heaters rated appropriately for the area classification and environment, normally Zone 1. The Model 500 DIRECT DRIVE TOP DRIVE SYSTEM utilizes (IEC / CENELEC) Exe electrical components and is constructed according to IEC standards for marine applications. All hazardous area equipment is certified for Zone 1; all exterior mounted safe area equipment is designed for a marine application. All hardware is rated for IP 56 min and -20 °C to +55 °C. Handling Ring Assembly The Model 500 DIRECT DRIVE TOP DRIVE SYSTEM includes a Hydraulic Rotary Head that rotates 360 degrees allowing the Pipe Handler to be Infinitely Position able and able to reach the well center, mouse hole, or any other position on the drill floor. The Rotary Head is held in position with a hydraulically controlled Locking device. The following features are included: a. 10 channel hydraulic swivel ring. b. 500 Ton capacity thrust bearing. c. Hydraulic rotation drive with 360 degree rotation controlled from the driller’s console. d. Hydraulic actuated handling ring locking assembly controlled from the drillers console to prevent handling ring rotation. e. Hydraulic link kick out system. 6. Pipe Handling System: a. Non-rotating hydraulic-powered pipe grabs with standard tong dies capable of holding the upper IBOP (7 3/4” OD). 7. IBOP System a. Top Drive Guide Dolly The Top Drive dolly consists of a wheeled carrier frame that the motor housing and ancillary components are mounted. The guide dolly travels on a pair of vertical rails fixed to the mast/derrick (provided with mast) and provides stabilization and torque reaction. Rollers are provided for smooth, reliable traveling. The power control house shall have one (1) entry/exit door for personnel and equipment access. Door construction shall be with gaskets and self closing. The door shall be of locking type with panic hardware and door closers. The door components shall be of heavy-duty construction. Vertical supports shall be of standard tubular steel and shall meet all load requirements. Exterior walls, roof and flooring shall be made of .” plate. One (1) 12 circuit, 208Y/120Volt lighting panel will be mounted on an interior wall to provide power for lighting and other devices. An interior fluorescent, rapid-start ballast lighting fixture will be provided for aisle lighting. An emergency light with battery back-up will also be included in the interior of the house. The two (2) air conditioning units will be wall-mounted type, rated at 2 tons. The air conditioner will be controlled by a thermostat located inside the house. The supply for the air conditioner will be a 3-phase, 208V. The power control house will be sandblasted prior to painting. The exterior of the building will be painted with a three-coat paint system: sub-coat zinc primer, surface tolerant epoxy, and a topcoat of polyurethane paint. Rig Survey A thorough rig survey may have to be conducted by Service Technicians to verify top drive fit and modifications (if necessary) to mast. Mast modifications are not included.
